Recently, the Dominican Sisters offered De Paul House in Northcote, the opportunity to manage a two bedroom house in Blockhouse Bay for a certain period. This home will be offered to a De Paul House family, who will partner in a scheme leading to home ownership somewhere in Auckland.
This partnership reflects the shared history of De Paul House and the Dominican Sisters as the Sisters taught at the Catholic Boarding School based at De Paul House site from 1934 to 1969. The New Zealand Housing Foundation is working alongside De Paul House with this project and all parties are very positive about the potential for this model to change the futures for many families forever.
