Deaf Community gathering to celebrate 150 years since arrival of the first Dominican Sisters

The local Catholic Deaf community and parish of St. Brigid’s will be celebrating at special

Dominican milestone in Feilding on Saturday 15th May.

This year is 150 years since the first Dominican Sisters

arrived in New Zealand at Port Chalmers, Dunedin.

There will be an Interpreted Mass

with Bishop Peter Cullinane

at St. Brigid’s Church, 4 Monmouth Street

at 11.00am

followed by lunch.

 

Sr. Maureen O’Hanlon OP will be present representing the Dominican Sisters.
