Each Wednesday morning this year I spend some time at Verdon College beginning with the assembly. Two weeks ago I walked the Dominican Prayer Spiral. The spiral was completed last year after the Principal attended the Dominican Education Conference in Sydney The native plants are maturing well. The area is peaceful and beautiful, a wonderful addition to the College honoring the sacredness of creation. It is placed beside the building which is in the process of being established as a whare. The autumn crocuses celebrating the gift of life on this Easter Day at Korimako Dominican Ecology Centre.

It is a gorgeous autumn day here and a native bird has just gifted me a beautiful song outside the living room doors which are wide open. Alleluia!A young mothers group with their pre schoolers has been formed to meet at Korimako on a Tuesday to pray, help in the garden and finish with a lunch.  They call it NOURISHED BY NATURE  and aim to nourish each other with ideas for healthy gardening and eating as well as deepening their spirituality.

The photo shows part of the area in the sanctuary that the women will help us to convert into a vegetable garden this year.  The ground will be well prepared in the autumn  to be ready for planting in the spring.  The sanctuary is also large enough to have spaces for the children to play and help in.
